Innovation in steel production
In the dynamic world of the steel industry, we are constantly striving for innovation and efficiency. A significant development in this area is the integration of drilling units into flame-cutting machines from Zinser.
The Zinser company and its flame-cutting machines have played a crucial role in our production for over 30 years. Two new machines with integrated drilling units are now reinforcing this market-leading position in our facility. The primary benefit of this integration is the ability to substitute the initial preheating phase of the cutting process with pre-drilling. Using the units that have been integrated into the new flame-cutting machines, we drill holes with a diameter of up to 25 millimetres and a depth of up to 230 millimetres. This not only increases efficiency but also reduces wear on the entire machine. In conventional preheating, the machine becomes contaminated with slag spatter, which means that it has to be cleaned thoroughly before cutting can begin. This work step is not required when pre-drilling. By pre-drilling, we can, therefore, not only significantly reduce processing times, but also increase flexibility in our production. The additional option of producing holes, threads and countersinks directly on the cutting system before the actual flame-cutting process allows us to allocate our limited mechanical resources elsewhere. The bottom line is that the two new flame-cutting machines with integrated drilling units are an important step forward for us. They combine efficiency, precision and versatility. By optimising the cutting process and integrating pre-drilling, they set new standards for our industry and strengthen our competitive position in the market.
